Incoming Freshman

Welcome to high school athletics! This will be an exciting time in your son’s life and we want you to have all the information necessary to be prepared for the season. The below outlines key requirements you will need to know prior to your son taking the field in the fall.

REGISTRATION

For each high school sport, registration is required through the high school at https://mypaymentsplus.com/welcome. This is a requirement prior to tryouts and your child will not be allowed on the tryout field without having done this. The coaches will pull the tryout list 3-4 days prior to tryouts, so please make this a priority. If your child is not on this list, he will not be allowed on the field to try out.

MEDICAL PHYSICAL

Each athlete needs to have a current physical on file with the high school athletic office. Physicals are typically good for 3 years. For questions regarding the status of your child’s physical, contact Brigett Hanson (brigett.hanson@district196.org) in the athletic office. This list will also be provided to coaches in the few days leading up to tryouts. If your child is not cleared through a physical on file, he will not be allowed on the field to try out.

Athletic funding is very limited. As a result, most sports have a booster club operated by a handful of volunteer parents that organizes fundraising to provide critical elements needed for the season. Transportation, uniforms, equipment, awards and social team opportunities are all funded through the booster club’s fee and fundraising efforts. Without the booster club, the team would not have the funds to participate in the season. Expectations are that both players and parents participate. The boys soccer program typically has over 100 athletes in participation. Booster Club dollars are very important to support a program of this size.

* BOOSTER CLUB FEE

At the time of team formations you will be asked to pay a booster club fee of $150. This fee will go toward the above season needs. The fee will be required at the kick off meeting and can be made in the form of cash or check. Scholarships are available on an as needed basis. For questions on the booster club fee or scholarship needs, please contact Booster Club Treasurer treasurer.eaganboyssoccer@gmail.com

* FUNDRAISING

    • Pahl’s plant selling (spring)
    • Cub foods bagging (weekend days in the late summer and fall)
    • Goal Card discount card selling (July/August)
    • Direct online donations (ongoing)

* VOLUNTEERING

Each athlete and parent should plan to be a part of volunteer efforts throughout the season. At the kick off meeting, the booster club will outline opportunities and expectations for each grade level.
